Stop backing terror groups, US tells Pak
NEW DELHI: The United States on Friday joined the world community in condemning the Jaish-eMohammed ( JEM) s ui c i de attack, saying the time had come for Pakistan to end support to all terrorist groups operating on its soil.
A statement issued by the White House spokesperson on Thursday termed the assault by the JEM suicide bomber with a vehicle packed with up to 100 kg of explosives as a “heinous” and “brutal” attack “by a Pakistanbased terrorist group.”
China’s foreign ministry condemned the attack — among the last major countries to do so — but was non-committal on backing India’s demand to sanction Jem’s Pakistan-based chief Masood Azhar under United Nations’ Security Council Resolution 1267.
