States announce ex-gratia, jobs to CRPF troopers’ kin
BENGALURU/BHUBANESWAR/HYDERABAD/ CHENNAI: As the mortal remains of the slain CRPF troopers arrived at their native states on Saturday from New Delhi for the last rites, states announced ex-gratia to the families of the troopers.
Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy announced a financial aid of ₹25 lakh for the family of the slain trooper H Guru. The tri-coloured cortege with Guru’s body was lowered from the IAF’S AN-32 transport aircraft at the state-run HAL airport in the city’s eastern suburb and driven in a flower-bedecked military truck to Gudigere village in Mandya, about 100 km from here.
Union minister DV Sadananda Gowda, Kumaraswamy and state home minister MB Patil laid wreaths on the cortege before it was placed in the vehicle for its last journey under escort.
Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu announced ex gratia of ₹ 5 lakh to the families of slain CRPF jawans.
Tamil Nadu CM K Palaniswami Saturday ordered government jobs to one person each from the families of two CRPF personnel from the state. The bodies of G Subramanian and C Sivachandran, the two CPRF personnel killed in the attack were flown to Madurai and Tiruchirappalli airports respectively from New Delhi and later taken to their villages by road.
Odisha government also announced an ex-gratia of ₹10 lakh each for the families of two slain CRPF jawans from the state on Friday, officials said.
