Cong to strengthen party organisation
JAIPUR: The state Congress is pulling all stops to counter t he Bharat i y a J a nat a Par t y (BJP) in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections with a series of initiatives including hi-tech use of social media and mobile application ‘Ghar-ghar Congress’ to connect with the voters.
To ideologically counter the BJP and the RSS, the party is training its workers to apprise peopl e a bout its i deol o g y achievements, culture and history, said a senior party leader who did not wish to be named.
The training is ongoing and we expect to train close to 50,000 workers before polls, said the leader.
He said party president Rahul Gandhi during a recent interaction with Seva Dal workers in Ajmer had also insisted on strengthening the organisation by connecting to lakh of youngsters.
State vice president Mumtaz Massih said the Congress is training its workers in party’s ideology.
“The number of workers who know the ideology of the party have decreased and they require training. Rahul Gandhi and AI C C general secretary incharge Avinash Pande too had given the nod to start such a training programme,” he said.
The training programme which started on February 12 focuses on Congress history, achievements, the role of the party in the freedom movement and development works and EVM machines. It also trains them how to counter BJP’S charges against the party at a political level.

With two months left for Lok Sabha polls, the state Congress is using technology to reach out to voters. The party has prepared ‘Ghar Ghar Congress’ mobile application, where in order to prepare a data base, the workers will feed details of voters in respective booths.
The mobile application is expected to be used by one lakh party workers.
The application also has a provision to award points to enthusiastic workers based on their inputs relating to family and household details and reward them later with suitable positions in the party or government.
