Army command to hold investiture function on Feb 23
ALWAR: The investiture ceremony of Sapta Shakti Command of the Indian Army will be held at the military station at Itarana in Alwar district on February 23.
This will be the first time when the army command will organise the investiture ceremony in Alwar, which is usually held in Jaipur.
Major general Manoj Kumar, a spokesperson for the army, said that 12 officers and five soldiers will be presented with gallantry and distinguished service awards by Lt Gen Cherish Matheson, general officer commanding-in-chief, Sapta Shakti Command during the ceremony.
A number of events will also be organised at Itarana Cantt on February 22, as a prelude to the main event, he said.
The events will include display of feats by motorcyclists, a performance by Symphony band, an equestrian show, malkhambh and Jhanjh Pathak.
