JAIPUR: The six-year-old deaf and mute girl, who was kidnapped and raped on Saturday night in Alwar district, is stable after she underwent a surgery in a Jaipur hospital Monday, doctors said.

Meanwhile, three doctors were removed on the charges of not providing the girl treatment at the Mundawar community health centre (CHC) where she was taken before being referred to Jaipur’s JK Lone Hospital, said Alwar chief medical and health officer Dr OP Meena.

JK Lone’s superintendent Dr Ashok Gupta said the girl underwent a surgery for injury on her genitals, and was doing fine. “She was taken into surgical ICU and had a surgery on Monday morning. She is in the ICU but stable,” he said. Alwar superintendent of police Rajeev Pachar said the girl was found on railway tracks near Ajarka station. The railway staff informed police about her, he added. “I rushed to the spot with police from Mundawar police station, FSL staff and dog squad. The girl was taken to Mundawar CHC for treatment,” he said.

Police said the girl from Tijara town had gone to attend a wedding in Mundawar on Saturday when she was kidnapped.

The SP said the girl was taken to Alwar district hospital after doctors at the CHC didn’t attend her. “A medical board was constituted for her check-up. After examining her health condition, the board referred her to Jaipur,” said Pachar. Police said a case against unidentified people was registered under the newly amended sub-section (A) and (B) of section 376 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) under which, the guilty could be punished with capital punishment or life imprisonment. The accused were also booked under POCSO Act and IPC section 363, Pachar said.

A police officer, who requested anonymity, said the 25-year-old accused is a relative. He will be arrested soon, the officer said.

Meanwhile, CMHO Meena removed Dr Anita Yadav of PHC Jhajahnpur, Dr Sheetal Choudhary of PHC Mundanwara and Dr Geeta Choudhary of PHC Manka on the charges of denying the girl medical treatment. “There was no gynecologist available at Mundawar CHC after which the block medical health officer contacted doctors from PHC Jhajahnpur, PHC Manka and PHC Mundanwara but all of them denied to attend the patient citing personal reasons. After which the administration has put the three doctors on APO and we have also given them a charge sheet,” said Meena.
