In Rajasthan board Class 12 exam, girls outshine boys

RESULTS OUT 95.86% girls pass in the science stream and 95.31% girls in commerce

JAIPUR: Girls outdid boys in the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education class 12 board exam results for science and commerce streams declared on Wednesday.

While 92.88% students passed board exams from the science steam, the passing percentage for the commerce stream is 91.46%.

As many as 257719 students from science stream and 42,140 students from the commerce stream appeared for the RBSE class 12 board exam.

In the science stream, 91.59% boys and 95.86% girls passed and the overall pass percentage grew by the 6% in comparison to the previous year. However for the commerce stream, 89.40% boys and 95.31% girls passed the exam.

This year, the result have been declared seven days in advance in comparison to the previous year. However, no merit list has been sent out by the RBSE.

A convocatio­n ceremony for the meritoriou­s students will be organised by the RBSE in October.

Puneet Maheshwari from Maheshwari Public school, Jaipur, got 495 marks out of 500 in the science stream and is likely to be the state topper.

Maheshwari gave the credit of his success to teachers and family.

“Apart from school, I used to study nearly 5-6 hours on a daily basis. I want to become an engineer and therefore I gave the Jee-mains exam this year but could not clear the same and hence will drop the year and prepare for the exam again,” said Maheshwari who is a resident of Kishanpole, Jaipur.

Out of 4 1 1 2 1 c andidates appeared as the regular candidates for commerce stream, 92.06% candidates passed the exam while the out of 530 candidates who gave the exams as private students 44.72% passed the exam.

For the science stream, out of 250299 candidates who gave the exam as regular candidates 94.54% candidates passed the exam while out of 7420 candidates who gave the exam as private students 36.71% passed the exam.

For science stream, the pass percentage for major subjects such as physics, chemistry, biology and mathematic­s was 95.96%, 97.40%, 97.59% and 94.78% respective­ly. Whereas for commerce stream, the pass percentage for major subject such as economics, mathematic­s, accountanc­y and business studies was 96.65%, 96.66%, 94.29% and 98.13% respective­ly.

Education Minister Govind Singh Dotasra in a tweet on Wednesday congratula­ted the successful students.

“RBSE class 12 board exam results for science and commerce stream are out. This the success rate have increased by 6% in comparison to the previous year. I congratula­te every successful student. However, the students who have gained less marks than expected should not feel demotivate­d since there is lot in life ahead,” said Dotasra in a tweet.

The minister also congratula­ted Sakshi, a student of government senior secondary school in Sangria (Hanumangar­h), who scored 491/500 in science stream. Dotasara said she has proved that students of government schools can also perform well. Sakshi scored a perfect 100 in Physics and Mathematic­s and got 97 in Chemistry.
