BHARATPUR: After state ministers opened a front against the Congress government’s decision on allowing anyone to be mayor, tourism minister Vishvendra Singh and technical education minister Subhash Garg have engaged in a face-off over the alliance with Rashtriya Lok Dal (MLA) in the upcoming civic polls.

Garg, who is a Rashtriya Lok Dal MLA from Bharatpur had assured party workers of contesting municipal elections in alliance with the Congress in front of RLD vice-president Jayant Choudhary on Sunday.

After a membership programme on workers suggestions, Garg made the announcement of alliance for civic polls as made during assembly elections. “Chaudhary, chief minister Ashok Gehlot and deputy chief Minister Sachin Pilot will have to decide on alliance for civic polls,”s aid Garg.

“The alliance between Congress and Rashtriya Lok Dal is strong and municipal elections will be won, if fought together,” he said. In support, Chaudhary also stated that “We hope that as alliance Congress andrashtriya Lok Dal contest civic election for the development of all wards. Congress candidates can contest inside the city, while RLD in outer rural area.”

GARG, WHO IS AN RLD MLA HAD ASSURED PARTY WORKERS OF CONTESTING MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS IN ALLIANCE WITH THE CONGRESS

I have spoken to Pilot (Sachin), who is the state Congress president. Congress will contest election alone, without any alliance.

SUBHASH GARG,

Technical education minister her, Vishvendra Singh on Monday countered Garg’s statement, while speaking at a public hearing.

He said “I have spoken to Pilot, who is state president of Congress and deputy CM about the civic body election. Congress

VISHVENDRA SINGH , Tourism minister will contest election alone, without any alliance.”

“RLD alliance was with Congress in the last assembly election (2018) and it is good that they are supporting Congress. But there are no chances of alliance in civic body election. However it is the Congress Committee to take a decision on alliance but to my understanding there won’t be any as Congress has till date contested alone,” he said.

Singh also tweeted later, “Absolutely, the last time I checked, I was still the senior vice president and Pilot, the president.”
