Tribute paid to policemen who died in line of duty

JAIPUR: On the occasion of 60th Police Martyrdom Day, director general of police (DGP) Bhupendra Singh, along with other seni or off i cers, paid t ri bute t o police personnel who died in the line of duty, at Amar Jawan Jyoti Memorial in Jaipur on Monday.
A blood donation camp was also organised at Parvati Hostel of Rajasthan Police Academy on the occasion. More than 300 police personnel donated blood at the camp.
Addressing the gathering at the Rajasthan Police Academy, Singh read out the designation and name of all the officers and employees of various cadres of all the provinces, union territories and paramilitary forces of the country who laid their lives in the line of duty between September 1, 2018 and August 31, 2019.
As per the tradition, Singh, followed by then retired DGP MK Devarajan, DG training Rajiv Dasot, joint director intelligence bureau KC Meena, Navajyoti Gogoi from CBI, RPA director Hemant Priyadarshi and additional commissioner of police Ajay Pal Lamba laid floral wreath at the martyr’s site.
A group of police personnel took out a parade, in which the participants bowed their heads with mourning arms and held silence for two minutes to pay tribute to the departed souls.
A police band taking part in the parade played the tune of “Last Post” and “Rouse/ Reveli”. The police personnel taking part in the Martyr’s Day Parade also fired three rounds to pay tribute to the martyrs.
