Cases against Congress workers to be reviewed
JAIPUR: The state government will be withdrawing cases lodged against Congress workers during previous government.
Chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Wednesday said, “The cases, against people from SC/ST community, youth Congress or on employee leaders will be withdrawn.”
He said addressing the newspersons, when asked about the cases against Youth Congress (YC) activists registered during the last government. Sports minister and Rajasthan YC state president Ashok Chandna met the CM at his residence today demanding the same. Chandna met Gehlot at his residence and urged him to withdraw cases against YC leaders and workers. “The activists demonstrated for various issues in the interest of the public but cases were lodged against them out of animosity. We have urged the CM and he has assured to review them,” said Chandna at state party office.
Former NSUI president Sumit Bhagasara also met and submitted a memorandum to the AICC general secretary Avinash Pande in Delhi urging to withdraw cases on youth party workers and leaders, which were lodged due to political animosity.
Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson Mukesh Pareek said if the cases being considered are of political nature and lodged for protest and agitation, it is fine. But when BJP was reviewing such cases they were opposing it. Congress view point changes, when they are in the government or in opposition.
Meanwhile, the CM said Congress is winning both the assembly seats, which witnessed by-polls due to effective campaign and management; hard work of workers and leaders. He said in last election they (BJP) made emotional issues during Lok Sabha elections but people now have understood and Congress government has formed and there will be no difficulty.
