Former MLA booked under SC/ST Act
INFIGHTING IN KOTA BJP CAME TO FORE DURING THE MEETING WHEN GUNJAL AND MEGHWAL HAD A HEATED ARGUMENT AND LATER MEGHWAL LODGED A POLICE COMPLAINT
KOTA: The Kota police booked former BJP MLA from Kota North, Prahlad Gunjal under SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 Act based on the complaint of BJP MLA from Keshoraipatan (Bundi), Chandrakanta Meghwal lodged last year after spat between the two during an administrative meeting in Kota.
The Kota City Police has sent the case to the CID-CB for further probe since Prahlad Gunjal was BJP MLA from Kota North when the spat occurred on 12 May, 2018 in the presence of the then in-charge minister of Kota district, Prabhulal Saini at Kota Collectorate.
The infighting in Kota BJP had come to fore during the meeting when Gunjal a nd Meghwal had a heated argument and later Meghwal lodged police complaint in Nayapura alleging Gunjal used objectionable and casteist language.
Apparently no c a s e was lodged against Gunjal despite repeated complaints by Chandrakanta at party level.
While Gunjal lost assembly polls in December 2018 and
Meghwal changed her constituency and electoral district and contested from Keshoraipatan constituency of Bundi and won.
When asked about the FIR against Gunjal, Circle Inspector, Kota, Sanjay Royal, said that the FIR has been lodged under section 3 of SC/ST Act (Prevention of Atrocities Act) on November 7 this year.
“The case has been sent to the CID-CB since Prahlad Gunjal was MLA at the time of the incident,” said Sanjay.
When asked as to why a case was lodged against Gunjal now when the complaint was lodged last year, Sanjay said that the case was under investigation which completed recently.
However, when contacted Prahlad Gunjal, was not available for comments.
