Avoiding Covid test ‘deliberately’ to invite admin action

JAIPUR: The district administration has directed for strict action against people not taking the Covid-19 health test despite possessing symptoms of the disease or they have come in contact with a person affected with the virus.

The order has been circulated for the prevention of Covid-19 under the Rajasthan Epidemic Disease Act, 1957 and the Disaster Management Act 2005, stated a press release issued by Jaipur district collector Dr Jogaram.

According to the order, if any person in the district has symptoms of Covid-19 and is deliberately not undergoing health test and isn’t even in home isolation, then strict action will be taken against him as per the rules.

Similarly, people who, despite coming in contact with any Covid-19 positive patient, have not got their health test done and are not in home isolation will face action.

The release states that strict action will also be taken against those who leave the quarantine centre without permission.

Action will also be taken against those individuals who are under scrutiny due to apprehension of Covid-19 - if they interfere with the test or misconduct during the medical examination. In addition, those who receive any kind of government assistance related to Covid-19 wrongfully or on the basis of wrong information, will also face action.

The collector has constituted district and sub-division level committees t o t ake acti on against those violating the norms.
