go back to performing live soon. “It all depends on the government as to how the vaccine is administered and how much time it takes. I am also waiting for just that. Mere concerts bhi ho rahe hai but who maza nai aaraha,” he says.

The singer, who is a rank outsider in the industry also feels that there are a lot of things that factor in when it comes to a musician’s success. “I don’t know about nepotism but favouritism definitely exists in our industry. Everyone wants to work with people who have already signed with them or whom they like personally. It’s great for those who are getting work because of this but what about the rest? They are being denied platforms,” he says, adding, “I also feel that we are slowly losing the class that we had in Indian music once upon a time. The trend of making music like fast food is just 15 din ki chandni which is soon replaced by something new. Good music should not be subject to time. Good classics are loved even today. Songs that are made today don’t stand the test of time. We are not providing anything good to the com

Singer ing generations. Some companies are selling low quality music just to make money, and that’s not good.”

He adds that singers have to struggle just as much to make a mark but the initial struggle doesn’t feel bad because it is more of learning. “Problem tab hoti hai jab aap kuch achieve kar lete ho uske baad bhi struggle karna pade. I feel like I am struggling more today because composers make multiple singers sing the same song and labels don’t prefer you if you are not signed with them, nobody gives you credit for your work and that’s not good,” he signs off.

Ialways wanted a beach shoot to make the announcement and it turned out perfect,” says Kishwer Merchant talking about the Instagram post through which she announced her pregnancy. Merchant married her husband Suyyash Rai in December 2016, and admits that there was pressure to have a baby soon due to their age difference. She is eight years older to him. “The family, too, wanted kids and there was bit of pressure as we have been married for four years now. In fact, this pregnancy wasn’t planned. It just happened. We were in shock after we got the test results (laughs),” she reveals.

The actor, who turned 40 this year, calls her pregnancy a birthday gift from God. “Being a mother at 40 is cool and age is just a number. I asked all sorts of questions to the doctor but she’s asked me not to worry. I have cousins who have delivered at 40 and 42, so I don’t see age as a problem. Moreover, due to our healthy lifestyle, it should be fine,” she adds.
