INDIA ADDED 2.25 MN COVID CASES, OVER 16,000 DEATHS IN A WEEK

NEW DELHI: India continued to record over 300,000 cases of the coronavirus for the sixth day in a row on Tuesday, while it also saw its highest single-day fatalities with over 2,700 deaths, according to the Union health ministry.

The country saw 323,144 people testing positive for Covid-19 in the 24-hours to Tuesday, taking India’s tally to 17,636,307, the ministry said. The death toll mounted to 197,894 with 2,771 new fatalities.

From April 20 to 26, India saw over 2,251,200 cases and more than 16,350 deaths.
