+VE TEST REPORT NOT NEEDED FOR ADMISSION IN HOSPITALS: GOVT

NEW DELHI: The Union health ministry on Saturday revised the national policy for admission of Covid-19 patients to various facilities and clarified that requirement of a positive test for Covid-19 virus is not mandatory for admission to a health facility.

The ministry said a suspect case shall be admitted to the suspect ward of Covid Care Centers (CCC) and Dedicated Covid Hospitals (DCH) as the case may be. According to government data, 12 states accounted for 80.68 per cent of India’s over 3.7 million active Covid cases, the ministry said.
