- HT Correspondent

Amid a surge in the Covid-19 cases, the Rajasthan government on Tuesday launched free ambulance services in districts.

Availability of sufficient number of ambulances will be ensured at district level war rooms as well as Covid consultation and Covid care centres set up at block level in the state to admit or refer patients to a dedicated hospital, stated an order issued by the chief minister’s office.

The ambulance facility will be completely free for the patients.

The services of 108 and 104 ambulances available in the district will be used and the respective district collectors will also be able to acquire or operate a private ambulance, if needed.

On the directions of chief minister Ashok Gehlot, the health department has launched a dedicated helpline for timely and prompt disposal of grievances, providing necessary advice and medicines to the patients and other complaints related to Covid-19. The helpline will provide real time information, such as related to the availability of beds, oxygen facility and ventilator in Covid dedicated Hospital, consultation centre, treatment centres, private hospitals and ambulance facility on referral and discharge to the patient.

The CM has also directed that no patient requiring hospitalisation will be denied admission under any circumstances.

A 24x7 state-level war room with helpline number 181 is being operated for this.
