DOC SUMMONED AT POLICE STATION ATTEMPTS SUICIDE

BIKANER: A doctor attempted suicide by slitting his wrist on the premises of the Sadar Police Station in Bikaner.

The police rushed him to the PBM hospital in the district after the incident, which took place on Sunday. The doctor was summoned by the Sadar police for questionin­g in an ongoing investigat­ion in connection with black marketing of remdesivir injections.

According to the police sources, the doctor was asked to wait outside the police station, while the investigat­ing officer was busy in interrogat­ion with another accused.

He went to his car parked in the compound of police station and allegedly slit his wrist.

Station house officer (SHO) of Sadar police station Satya Narayan Godara told HT that the police are probing the involvemen­t of some private hospitals in the alleged black marketing of remdesivir injections and the staff of the hospital was called to verify the leads.
