FORMER BENGAL CM BUDDHADEB HOSPITALIS­ED

Former West Bengal chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattachar­ya, 77, who was under treatment at home for Covid-19, was hospitalis­ed on Tuesday after his oxygen level dropped below 90%.

“Bhattachar­ya is stable right now. A panel of six doctors has been formed for his treatment,” said Dr Rupali Basu, the CEO of Woodlands Hospital, where the former chief minister is admitted to.

Bhattachar­ya and his wife Mira, 71, tested positive for Covid-19 on May 18. Mira was admitted to the Woodlands Hospital the same night and discharged on Monday. KOLKATA:
