MP accuses govt of scaling down testing

- Suresh Foujdar

BJP MP from Bharatpur, Ranjeeta Koli on Tuesday accused the state government of “deliberately” scaling down the Covid-19 testing.

Speaking after her visit to a community health centre (CHC) in the district, Koli claimed that doctors were conducting fewer tests to abide by the state government’s order.

“One person returned home after he was declined Covid-19 test. When I spoke to the doctor about the matter, he said there was a government direction stipulating minimum testing,” she said.

A video subsequently went viral in which Koli could be seen speaking to the doctor about testing. The doctor can be heard saying that there was a direction to conduct minimize tests when cases begin to increase.

The doctor said that the voice in the viral video was not his. He said the viral video was edited. BHARATPUR: KOLI CLAIMED DOCTORS WERE CONDUCTING FEWER TESTS TO ABIDE BY THE GOVT’S ORDER
