The Office star Mark York passes away at 55
Known for playing Billy Merchant in The Office, actor Mark York, 55, has passed away. According to People.com, York died last week at Miami Valley Hospital, Ohio, USA, following a brief and unexpected illness. He is survived by his brothers, Brian, Jeff and David York, as well as his mother Becky York and his father Glenn York.
“Mark could quote so many lines from movies and tell you who particular actors were in most movies. He spent many years living in California where he had many exciting moments pursuing his acting opportunities. Even though he has been paraplegic since 1988, he had such an outgoing, uplifting, positive attitude and personality. He always tried to look at what he could accomplish and do, not what he couldn’t do,” the obituary further stated.
The actor has also made appearances in Steven Spielberg’s AI Artificial Intelligence (2001), CSI: New York, Passions and 8 Simple Rules. He was also an inventor and had two patents to his name.
