TEACHER HELD FOR MOLESTING MINOR STUDENT

A 32-year-old private school teacher was arrested for molesting a nineyear-old girl in Bharatpur, police said on Saturday .

The incident took place in Rudawal town on Friday evening.

The girl had gone out of her house to drink sugarcane juice when the accused, who used to give her tuition, allegedly called her inside his rented room, removed her clothes and touched her private parts, the police said.

Later, the girl told her family members about the teacher’s act, following which the family members registered a complaint with the police, said Manish Sharma, the station house officer of Rudawal police station. The police have registered a complaint against the teacher under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO). After medical examination, the girl’s her statement was recorded before a magistrate, Sharma said, adding that the accused was arrested.
