- Aabshar H Quazi BHARAT SINGH,

Governments is expected to give more focus on the forest and wildlife conservation and the minister of forest and wildlife to be more concerned about environment conservation, but the forest minister of Rajasthan has no interest in it

KOTA: After the recent verbal spat between two cabinet ministers of Gehlot government, Congress MLA from Sangod, Bharat Singh has written a letter to chief minister Ashok Gehlot, in which he has demanded removal of forest minister Sukh Ram Vishnoi accusing that he (the minister) was “not giving proper attention to the forest and wildlife department”.

In the letter, Singh wrote that the forest and wildlife conservation has become all the more important in the present context of Covid-19 pandemic.

“Governments is expected to give more focus on the forest and wildlife conservation and the minister of forest and wildlife to be more concerned about environment conservation, but the forest minister of Rajasthan has no interest in it,” he wrote in the letter.

“Forest minister of Rajasthan has no interest in Mukundra tiger reserve conservation, relocation of the great Indian bustard (GIB) in Sorsan forest area and cheetah in the forests of Kota, as he has not visited the forests for their improvement and conservation,” he wrote.

Singh has urged the CM to relieve the forest minister and give him responsibility of any department in which he has interest.

“Removal of the forest minister from forest ministry would be a great work in the direction of conservation of forests and wildlife in the state,” he said.

Earlier, Singh had levelled accusations of corruption against mining minister Pramod Jain ‘Bhaya’.

Commenting on Singh’s demand, state BJP president Satish Poonia said that the legislator has raised valid questions on the performance of the forest minister, but the CM is not taking Singh’s demands seriously, as earlier also Singh had written a letter to the CM for sacking mines minister Pramod Jain Bhaya.

When HT tried to contact Vishnoi and state Congress president Govind Singh Dotasara for their reaction over Singh’s letter, they did not reply to the phone calls.
