JAIPUR: A Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) officer allegedly committed suicide by jumping before a moving train in Jaipur on Tuesday.

A suicide note recovered from the pocket of the 54-yearold officer’s trouser mentioned that he was under depression. However, the reason behind the officer’s depression is not yet clear, police said.

Deputy commissioner of police (west) Pradeep Mohan Sharma said that the officer, who was posted with the women and child development department, left his house in the morning.

Later, his body was found on the railway tracks near Khirni Phatak (railway crossing), he added.

The body has been handed over to the family members after postmortem, the police said, adding that the matter was being probed.
