Govt official arrested for bribery
The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday caught the chief accountant of Sardar Patel Medical College (SPMC) in Bikaner district allegedly for accepting a bribe of ₹50,000.
The accused, Kamal Kumar Goyal, had demanded the money as commission to pass the bills of a company that supplied oxygen cylinders to the medical college, said Gagandeep Singla, superintendent of police, ACB, Bikaner.
On Monday, the owner of the company, Rajesh Goyal, approached ACB. In his complaint with the ACB, Rajesh Goyal stated that his company supplied oxygen cylinder worth ₹63.50 lakh to the medical college.

Goyal, the chief accountant of the medical college, has been demanding ₹64,000 as 1% commission against passing the bills, but settled for ₹50,000.
After verification of his complaint, a trap was laid and the accountant was caught redhanded while taking the bribe Rs 50,000, Singla said, adding that the accused was arrested.
