KOTA: A school teacher was booked for raping a Class 6 student on a government school premises in Shergarh region of Jodhpur district, police said on Wednesday.

On the 13-year-old survivor’s complaint, a first information report (FIR) under the POCSO Act was lodged against the school teacher at Shergarh police station.

Deputy superintendent of police (SP) Rajuram Chaudhary said that the girl student in her complaint alleged that the 30-year-old teacher detained her in the school after the school was over in March. The teacher sent the girl’s brother, who also studies in the same school, away.

Later, the teacher raped the girl in a classroom, while another school teacher guarded from outside. The teacher allegedly threatened the girl to kill her if she told anyone about the incident.

After returning home, the girl told her mother that she would not go to the school as the teacher misbehaves with her. Later, the schools closed due to Covid-19 lockdown.

The crime of the teacher came to light when the victim girl fell ill on June 5. The girl told her parents that the teacher raped her 3-4 times on the school premises.

Later, it was found that the girl had become pregnant as a result of the rape, after which the father lodged an FIR against the teacher at the Shergarh police station on Tuesday.
