RAJ ANNOUNCES RELIEF FOR KIDS ORPHANED BY COVID, WIDOWS

KOTA: Rajasthan government has announced a financial package, under which the government will provide an immediate help of ₹1 lakh to the children orphaned by the Covid-19 and also to the women whose husband has died of the virus infection, according to an order issued by the government.

The government has also announced to provide ₹2,500 per month to such orphaned children till they attain 18 years of age when the government will also give them an ex-gratia payment of ₹5 lakh under the Mukhyamant­ri Corona Bal Kalyan Yojana (CM Corona Child Welfare Scheme).

The government will also provide free education to the orphaned children till Class 12 through residentia­l schools or hostels. Also, such college girls will be given admission into the hostels on priority basis, whereas the college boys will be given benefit of the Ambedkar DBT Voucher Scheme.

According to the government order, the widow, in addition to the ₹1 lakh immediate help, will also be given ₹1,500 monthly pension. Such widows will also be given ₹1,000 every month to look after their children. Also, ₹2,000 per child per annum will be provided to the widows towards school uniform and school books.
