Main accused arrested in doctor couple murder

The main accused in the murder of a doctor couple was arrested on Sunday when he was coming to Bharatpur to meet his lover, police said.

Anuj Gurjar, 21, allegedly shot dead Dr Sudeep Gupta and his wife Dr Seema Gupta in Atalband area of Bahratpur on May 28 while the couple were going to a temple in their car. After committing the crime, Anuj and his associate Mahesh Gurjar, 20, fled the spot on their motorcycle. They were hiding in Daang area of Karauli, police said.

Police teams from Bharatpur, Dholpur and Karauli districts were on the lookout for the accused, said Devendra Kumar Bishnoi, SP, Bharatpur.

Police arrested Mahesh Gurjar on June 1 from a village under Nadanpur police station in Dholpur district.
