Now, community health centre level teams to implement anti-covid measures at ground zero

LUCKNOW: Anticipati­ng third Covid 19 wave, the district administra­tion has constitute­d Community Health Centre (CHC) level teams in the areas that remained affected during first and second Covid wave. Officials said the teams would have a crucial role to play in keeping a check on the outbreak of the virus in the Covid-hit localities.

“The teams will work on the most basic level. It will create anti-covid awareness among locals, ensure implementa­tion of the protocol, ensure social distancing, keep check on mass gathering, set up Covid help desk, set up testing units and would also look after contact tracing and treatment part,” said Abhishek Prakash, district magistrate. The teams will also look into arrangemen­ts at the hospitals in the area to ensure treatment of the Covid and postcovid patients.

Not only this, the DM said that the teams would also check the availabili­ty of oxygen in the respective medical establishm­ents and also the availabili­ty of oxygen concentrat­ors.

“The teams will also co-ordinate with the active Nigrani Samitis in the areas and would make sure that testing, contact tracing and medicine distributi­on is done among the patients in the affected areas,” he said.

Also, the teams would ensure that the Covid protocols are followed at the ration shops, markets, weekly markets and shops. Besides, they would also ensure the regular fogging and sanitisati­on of the crow prone areas in their locality. The DM said there would be regular availabili­ty of the Rapid Response Teams (RRT), Surveillan­ce teams at the CHCS. Also, there would be a permanent Covid help desk that would ensure targeted testing and would be well equipped with the testing kits. The administra­tion has also put a check at all exit and entry points of the city, including highways, airport, railway stations, bus stations and toll plaza to check the inbound tourists from the Covid 19 Delta Plus variant vulnerable states including Maharashtr­a, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh or Karnataka.

He had also directed the officials to carry out a study of the reasons that led to infection in the hotspot areas that were identified in 1st and 2nd waves.
