‘ANTIBODIES ALS DEVELOP A MONTH AFTER 2ND DOSE OF COVID VAX’

Protective leve antibodies generally dev weeks after the first dos Covid vaccine, but they develop a month after the ond shot, says a study.

“It is considered that anti ies develop weeks after the dose of vaccinatio­n. ELMCH vaccinated 6, staff working on the cam and from among them, ch 246 for the antibodies’ st Samples were taken one mo after their first jab and a mo after the second dose. Co hield was used for all 6,500 members.

“As many as 17 people not developed antibodies af month of their first jab. Am them, 14 developed antibo when we checked their sam taken a month after the sec dose,” said Faridi.

The three who did develop antibodies (out of 246) included two individua 30-39 years age group and 60-plus.

“Our study is significan­t because we tested people had worked during the sec wave when the Delta var caused problems to most pe with Covid,” he said.

Out of the 246, only 18 tracted the Covid infection vaccinatio­n and these inclu 10 doctors and eight ot health staff. Eleven were and seven females.

After one month of inoc tion of both doses of Covish it was found that antibo were generated in 93% ( staff members while 17 emp ees didn’t have any antibo The average antibodies l was 11.76, said Dr Siddh Chandel.

The study showed that yo beneficiar­ies of vaccinatio­n better levels of antibodies c pared to the elderly. “Vacci a strong protection aga Covid infection as those who infected again did not have serious problem and did require hospitalis­ation,” Faridi.
