RRR 2 on the way, confirms Rajamouli

Filmmaker SS Rajamouli confirmed that he is expanding the RRR franchise. At an event in Chicago (USA), Rajamouli reportedly said that he and his father, screenwrit­er-director V Vijayendra Prasad, are currently working on the second instalment of RRR.

When asked if there would be RRR 2, Rajamouli said, “I would absolutely love to. I can’t reveal many details about it, but my father, who has been a screenwrit­er for all my films, including RRR, and I discussed a bit about it. He is working on the story.”

Earlier this year, actor Jr NTR (lead actor of the film) said that the fans’ demand for a sequel to RRR is fair. “I am pretty sure that if he (Rajamouli) doesn’t make (a sequel), you’re going to kill him for sure. He needs to make there needs to be a conclusion to this also. I was speaking to a journalist, and I don’t know how but I said RRR franchise. So, hopefully, it becomes true. He should make RRR 2,” the actor said at an event while celebratin­g the success of the film.

Released in March, RRR is a fictional story based on the lives of two Telugu freedom fighters. Actors Ram Charan and Jr NTR played lead roles The film collected over ₹1,20 crore worldwide.
