AGRA : Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party (Lohia) president Shivpal Yadav, who seems to be enjoying his re-union with nephew and SP leader Akhilesh Yadav, on Saturday reiterated his commitment to ensure a historic win for Yadav family daughterinlaw Dimple Yadav. He reminded the voters that she was the ‘ bahu’ of Netaji (Mulayam Singh Yadav) whom had they respected for years, as well as his, he being uncle of Akhilesh Yadav with whom he had reunited.

In the early part of the campaign, Shivpal was confined to his paternal village Saifai and his constituency Jaswant Nagar. On Saturday, he moved to other assembly segments of Mainpuri parliamentary constituency which goes to by- poll on December 5.

Addressing gatherings in Barnahal within Karhal assembly constituency seat, from where Akhilesh Yadav is MLA, he distanced himself from BJP candidate Raghjuraj Singh Shakya, a two-time former Samajwadi Party MP from Etawah, who has been claiming Shivpal Yadav as his political ‘guru’.

“If BJP candidate Raghuraj Singh Shakya considers me a ‘guru’ (master), then as a good ‘shishya’ (disciple) he should not have contested against my daughter- in- law. Raghuraj Singh kept me in the dark and betrayed me,” alleged Shivpal Yadav.

“If Raghuraj Singh was my true disciple, he should not have left me and joined another party and if he had such plans, he should have told me in advance. How can such a man claim to be my shishya (disciple)?” said Shivpal.

“We all have to ensure a landslide victory for Dimple Yadav who is ‘bahu’ (daughter-in-law) of Mulayam Singh Yadav and mine.

You voters ensured my victory six months ago in the state assembly elections by a margin of 92,000 votes which is not small,” said Shivpal Yadav.

Shivpal Yadav seems to be enjoying the revived status of ‘chacha’ (uncle) of Akhilesh Yadav and father-in- law of SP candidate Dimple Yadav. Recently he had said in Jaswant Nagar that he had told Akhilesh Yadav they would always remain united.

“Bahu ne phone kiya ki chacha hum ladenge, aa jao, ab ek hi saath rehna hai. Humne kaha tum gawah rehna hamari, agar Akhilesh gadbad karen to hamare saath hee rehna (laughed). Usne kaha saath hi rahenge, theek karenge (Dimple Yadav had phoned that she contesting the election. She asked me to join and assured to stay united. I asked her to stand witness in case Akhilesh created issues and she agreed and promised that all will remain united and all will be well),”said Shivpal Yadav in a video going viral on Friday wherein he was seen casually talking in a light mood with villagers who too were found endorsing his opinion about remaining united in the video which cannot be independently verified by HT.

Shivpal Yadav, presently the president of Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party (Lohia) had differences with Samajwadi Party president and his nephew Akhilesh Yadav before the 2017 state assembly elections and the gap increased but recently after the death of Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav, Akhilesh Yadav publicly touched Shivpal’s feet at a programme in Saifai, the paternal village of Yadav family and uncle and nephew reunited for campaigning in Mainpuri.
