LUCKNOW: Sections of Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DI&LR) and Quantitative Ability, popular among MBA aspirants as QA or Quant, proved the toughest to crack for many Common Admission Test (CAT)-2022 candidates in Lucknow. The test for entry into the prestigious Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) was held in three slots on Sunday.

Several aspirants were seen thronging exam centres situated at far-off corners of the city to find a gateway to land in their dream B- school. However, many were apprehensive about their dream as they found the Quant and DI&LR papers moderate to tough.

This time, IIM- Bangalore conducted the entrance exam in three slots.

“It contained 22 short questions that needed to be answered in 40 minutes. There were eight non-MCQs in the section. It was very tough for students with no mathematics background,” said Devesh Singh, 23, who took the exam at the Jankipuram Extension centre.

“The time allotted wasn’t sufficient given the difficulty of the questions in the Quant section. Most of the time went on calculations,’’ said Utkasrsh Shukla and Richa Kumari.

Priti Yadav, another candidate, said the questions in the DI&LR section were tougher than what she had practised. “There were 20 questions in total in the DI&LR part in slot 2. I found it difficult because they were tougher than what we had been practising.” Echoing similar thoughts, Suyash Sinha said he missed many of the questions in the section. On the contrary, Manish Kumar said it was the Verbal Ability and Reading

Comprehension (VA&RC) section that was tough.

Poor facility at exam centre

Meanwhile, some aspirants complained of poor facilities at the exam centre at Jankipuram Extension near Sitapur Road. “The centre is a kilometre away from the main road and doesn’t even have proper road access,” said SC Chaturvedi, a parent. VK Singh, another parent, said the location was difficult to find even on Google maps.
