ARM DEMOTED, SRTC TO RECOVER ₹3.44L FROM HIM

LUCKNOW : The U.P. State Road Transport Corporatio­n ( UPSRTC) has demoted an assistant regional manager (ARM) and also ordered recovery of Rs 3.44 lakh from him on charges of corruption and indiscipli­ne. Managing director (MD) Sanjay Kumar on Monday issued an order in this regard after the inquiry report indicting the ARM was submitted to him. According to the order PK Singh, currently posted as ARM in Mau depot, under Azamgarh region, has been demoted to one rank below and a recovery of Rs 3,44,894 will be made from him. There were charges that during his posting as ARM in Foundry Nagar depot in Agra, Singh sanctioned special leaves to ineligible employees, causing revenue loss to the corporatio­n.

He was also accused of conniving with people indulging in illegal vehicle operations

“Singh was given an opportunit­y to defend himself through a notice but he could not give a satisfacto­ry reply to the charges,” the MD said. HTC
