Former chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Tuesday attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Unon home minister Amit Shah alleging that only “two people are enjoying power, while rest remain powerless”.

Addressing a workers’ meeting in Raniwara block of Jalore district, hesaid, “For the past decade, only two people from Gujarat, have been enjoying power and ruling the country, while the rest of the ministers, MPs and MLAs are powerless...”

Gehlot said that the leaders and authorities should work according to the rights granted by the Constitution. “The constitution has granted rights to each authority, whether they are the PM, CM, MP, MLA or a minister, and they should work accordingly. Unfortunately, it is not happening,” he said.

The former CM slammed Modi for misusing central agencies for political gains. “Today people are afraid of Modi as they do not know when he will send ED/IT or CBIl,” Gehlot alleged.

Gehlot said that the country is passing through a very serious and dangerous situation. “Modi is engaging in politics of caste and religion and using Lord Ram’s name to secure votes,” he said. The Congress leader said that BJP government has come to power by spreading lies. “Our government had tirelessly worked for the betterment of the people, but through spreading lies, BJP leaders came into power. I appeal to the workers unite and ensure victory for the Congress, so that it could counter BJP’s wrong policies.”

Responding to Gehlot, BJP leader Ramesh Inda said, “It is the Congress culture where the high command is the only authority, while the BJP is a party based on workers.”

“Everybody knows that although Mallikarjun Kharge is the party president, who holds the actual power in the grand old party,” Inda added.
