Consider ‘lotus’ as BJP candidate, work for its victory: CM to workers
Consider the ‘lotus’ as the Bharatiya Janata Party candidate and work with full determination and strength to make it win in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Rajasthan chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said to the party workers on Tuesday.
The chief minister was on a two-day visit to Barmer during which he met representatives of multiple communities and addressed their concerns. Sharma was in Barmer to support the BJP candidate Kailash Choudhary. After reaching Barmer on Monday, Sharma took a night halt. On Tuesday, he continued his meetings.
“Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country is continuously progressing,” he said. Emphasising on the achievements of the Modi government, the CM said: “All the party workers must ensure their support for Narendra Modi to become the Prime Minister for the third time.”
“Consider the ‘lotus’ as the party candidate and work with full determination and strength to make it win in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.”
The CM also shared his government’s efforts in addressing the issues of electricity and water scarcity for farmers in a
short period. “As of now, the state is purchasing electricity but efforts are underway to position Rajasthan at the forefront of electricity sales within the next three years,” he said.
Speaking at the meeting, cabinet minister Jora Ram Kumawat said, “We should all vote for the BJP keeping in mind the national and public interest.”
Rajya Sabha MP Madan Rathore, who was also present during the event urged everyone to “rise above personal interests and vote for the BJP”. Responding to CM’s remarks, Congress general secretary Mevaram Soni said: “Why is the CM urging people to consider the ‘lotus’ symbol when they have fielded Kailash Choudhary.” Soni said that the BJP candidate, who also serves as a Union minister, has failed to deliver on the ground so, “the party is hesitant to seek votes in his name.”
