Results of mock SSC exams held in city declared, toppers felicitate­d

VASHI: The results of the mock SSC exams conducted by Navi Mumbai Shikshan Sankul in December were announced on January 19. Around 1,350 students from the city appeared for the statewide exam at centres in Thane and Panvel.

The prize distributi­on ceremony was held at Vishnudas Bhave auditorium in Vashi. Tejas Dhondiba Valnekar of RF Naik School, Bonkone, secured first rank in the Marathi medium, while Anuja Dattatreya Titame of Radhikabai Meghe Vidyalaya, Digha, got came second. Pratiksha Goraksha Gawde of MGM School, Nerul, ranked third. In the English medium, Shivanand Babu Golgi of Swami Vivekanand Shikshan Santha, Kopari, stood first, Aishwarya Madhukar Parkhe of Pune Vidyarthi Griha, Vidya Bhavan, bagged second rank, and Akash Sanjay Kalkundrik­ar of Radhikabai Meghe Vidyalaya, Airoli came third. The sankul has been conducting mock SSC examinatio­n since six years to help students get over the fear of board exams and score higher marks, said Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik, who was the chief guest at the function.

Talking to students, he said the education system has under- gone a sea-change over the years, and to achieve success in studies, they should develop self-confidence. MLA Sandeep Naik said “The mock SSC exam is unique in Maharashtr­a. Several students from Panvel also took the exam. It showed the success of the effort made by Shikshan Sankul.”

“The mock SSC exam is of tremendous importance as it has provided a platform for students to correct their weakness in board exam preparatio­n,” said Sandeep Naik, who is also the president of Shikshan Sankul.

He informed that all schools run by Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporatio­n will conduct guidance programme for students throughout the year based on teachings of renowned career counsellor Siddharth Prabhakar.

MP Sanjeev Naik exhorted parents not to pressurise their children.
