NAVI MUMBAI: Gone are the days when summer vacations meant spending indolent sleepy days at your native place, climbing trees and playing in the open with friends and cousins. Now, summer vacations are customised to suit what kids want to do.

With the holiday season already here, parents are on the lookout for interesting activities to get their kids engaged. Coming to their aid is Kids’ Studio in Koparkhairne with a summer camp titled Chutti Masti, with the theme ‘friend a trend’. The camp, which will be held from May 2 to 12, will be based on friendship.

“The camp is for kids in the age group of eight to 10 years. This is an age when children are restless and want to know about all the things around them. It is a perfect age to instill good thoughts and tell them about nice facets of life,” said Amita Singh, the founder of Kids’ Studio.

Another camp to be organised by Marshmallows International pre- school in Kharghar, will have a mix of art and craft sessions jointly organised by Pogo channel and the school. The camp has been divided into two sections — juniors and seniors — with each section having eight modules and 12 topics under each module.

Ehlam Ariya, coordinator of the event, said the camp is for the age group of six to 16 years and the participants will be provided a certificate by Pogo channel at the end of the camp. They will also get passes for Pogo’s art feast show.

A similar fun activity has been organised by Tom n Jerry pre-school in Sanpada, which has planned fine arts activities including sessions on storytelling, vocabulary building, mind games, etc.

For those looking for ecofriendly activities, enrol your child in the Kids’ Art and Craft workshop by Reprav studios, Sanpada. Children will be taught to make paper machines, bags, lanterns, table lamps, covers, greeting cards, etc. The workshop will be held in two batches in April and May for the age groups five to eight years and eight to 12 years.
