PANVEL: The various offices of Panvel Regional Transport Office (RTO) have collectively earned Rs.59.73 crore revenue in the last financial year of April 2012-2013. It is a 19 per cent hike from the last fiscal year.

The Panvel RTO office covers the areas of Panvel, Uran, Khalapur, Karjat talukas. It has exceeded its target for the year.

RTO officials say that a host of activities initiated by the Panvel RTO office since its operation two years back have contributed to the revenue generation. New registration of motorcycles, cars, interstate vehicle tax, old tax, transport vehicle tax, surcharge and additional surcharge contributed to the hike in collection. The Pen RTO office has registered 86 per cent increase in revenue.
