Two weeks af­ter pi­rated CDs worth Rs5 lakh were from sec­tor 17 of Vashi, po­lice have ar­rested yet an­other per­son in Kopar Khairane who was in pos­ses­sion of 101 pi­rated DVDs of new Hindi movies, on Thurs­day.

San­tosh Jad­hav, po­lice subin­spec­tor of Kopar Khairane po­lice sta­tion said, “Fol­low­ing a tip-off that a per­son was sell­ing pi­rated CDs from his home in sec­tor 16 of Kopar Khairne, we raided the house at around 5pm on Thurs­day.”

Po­lice ar­rested San­jay Jaiswal, 30, who was in pos­ses­sion of the il­le­gal CDs. Jad­hav said, “Jaiswal had DVDs of lat­est Bol­ly­wood re­leases such as Him­mat­wala of which 49 DVDs were re­cov­ered along with those of Race 2, ABCD and Kai Po Che.”

Only two weeks ago, the Vashi crime branch had seized pi­rated CDs worth Rs5 lakh. At that time the CDs seized in­cluded copies of new Hindi movies as well as porno­graphic CDs and it had prompted the ar­rest of two peo­ple from near Big Splash in sec­tor 17 of Vashi.

At that time too, po­lice in­spec­tor (crime) Ra­jen­dra Kadam had said that they had re­ceived in­for­ma­tion that the pi­rated CDs were be­ing sold from a stall in sec­tor 17, fol­low­ing which a team rushed to the spot and ar­rested the two ac­cused.
