Two days af­ter the build­ing col­lapse in Mum­bra, the po­lice ar­rested two de­vel­op­ers of the un­der-con­struc­tion struc­ture Thane top cop KP Raghu­van­shi con­firmed they have ar­rested Salim Shaikh and Ja­maal Qureshi (in­set). While Qureshi was nabbed from UP, Shaikh was ar­rested from Thane A team from the Kalina foren­sic sci­ence lab also vis­ited the spot to col­lected ce­ment, brick and steel sam­ples.

Nine­teen per­sons were in­jured when a BEST bus jumped the divider and over­turned af­ter be­ing hit by a speed­ing dumper on the West­ern Ex­press High­way at Vile Parle, bring­ing traf­fic to a halt for sev­eral hours, on Satur­day af­ter­noon. The in­jured in­clude 17 pas­sen­gers, the BEST driver and the con­duc­tor.

The Thane civic body on Satur­day be­gan de­mo­li­tion work on the other build­ings in the same com­pound.
