Builders sold several flats on Gudi Padwa, which is considered an auspicious occasion to purchase things
After a long slump in sales due to inflation and the delay in the airport project, home buyers booked flats on Thursday.
Builders believe the sale of flats this year was better than last year’s deals. KHARGHAR: “Don’t keep your agony to yourselves; share it with your loved ones,” said Pushpalata Patil, secretary of Dr D Y Patil University, while speaking about her award-winning Marathi book Kataha Pushpanjali, at an event in Nerul.
Patil was felicitated for receiving a special literary award from the Tripura Government for her book, a collection of short stories which highlight the plight of widows in Vidarbha. The Bengali version of the book had been selected for the 2012 literary award, in the translated category. Patil received the awards in Agartala on March 28.
“Earlier, women used to bear their suffering within their fourwalled houses. Now, the time has come to raise their voices against injustice,” said Patil, speaking at the event held at of DY Patil Hospital on Monday. Agartala collector Kiran Gite, who translated her book into English, and Dr Sanjay Oak, vice- chancellor of DY Patil University, attended the felicitation ceremony.
