Nerul cops ask res­i­dents to help iden­tify man killed on April 9

NAVI MUM­BAI: The Nerul po­lice have asked res­i­dents for in­for­ma­tion, if any, on a de­ceased who suc­cumbed to his in­juries fol­low­ing an at­tack by two peo­ple.

Ahmed Pathan, po­lice i nspec­tor ( crime) of Nerul po­lice sta­tion said, “On April 9, ac­cused Ja­muna Prasad Ra­jak, who has been ar­rested along with his ac­com­plice, at­tacked a per­son whom they sus­pected to be a thief.”

de­ceased was as­saulted and at­tacked with an iron rod caus­ing head and body in­juries.

The duo then fled, leav­ing him se­ri­ously in­jured af­ter threat­en­ing and abus­ing him.

The vic­tim, who was ad­mit­ted to the NMMC hospi­tal i n Vashi, died dur­ing treat­ment.

Pathan said, “The vic­tim has not yet been iden­ti­fied and hence we are ask­ing res­i­dents to l et us know i f they have any i nfor­ma­tion. We have re­leased his pho­to­graph as well.”

All po­lice sta­tions in the city too are be­ing ap­proached to find out if any com­plaint has been reg­is­tered against the de­ceased, which could help them iden­tify him.
