LOCALS’ CONCERNS IN MIND, SC KEEPS BAN ON VEDANTA

NEW DELHI: The SC on Thursday maintained the ban on Vedanta Group from carrying out bauxite mining in Niyamgiri Hills in Orissa, till the gram sabha gave it clearance, keeping in mind concerns of tribals and locals. It gave the gram sabha three months to decide on the issues arising out of the project.
