CIVIC BUDGET PRESENTED TO GENERAL BODY FOR APPROVAL
CBD BELAPUR: The chairman of the standing committee of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) Sampat Shevale presented the annual budget to the general body for a final approval on Wednesday.
The budget, which has already been approved by the standing committee, will be discussed by the general body on April 22-23.
On February 27, the standing committee approved a revised annual budget of Rs2,600.43 crore for the year 2013-14. The committee had increased the budget by Rs25 crore from Rs2,575.97 crore that was presented to it by the administration on February 20.
The budget, which will now be deliberated on by the general body, is expected to make further increases in the income and expenditure figures.
Shevale also presented the standing committee-approved budgets of the education committee, Navi Mumbai Municipal Transport and tree authority to the general body.
Mayor Sagar Naik announced that the budget would be discussed in detail during a special general body meeting.
