CBD BELAPUR: Ujjwal Nikam, who has been the public prosecutor in several high profile cases including 1993 bomb blasts and 26/11 Mumbai terror attack, was in the city recently to attend the seven- day Sanman festival organised by the Sanman Pratisthan in Airoli.

“Citizens generally approach the municipal corporations with a view to resolve civic issues that they come across. Hence, the elected representatives especially corporators need to be efficient to solve the problems faced by denizens at the grassroots level,” said Nikam.

Talking about today’s youth, Nikam said, “Our education sys- tem only makes people educated. The young generation needs to become cultured, broad-minded and focus on their career so that they do not get involved in crimes.” He asked parents to encourage their young wards to concentrate on their careers instead of wasting time in watching TV serials and films.

At the end of the programme, Nikam was honoured with the Sanman Pratisthan’s memento by deputy mayor Ashok Gawade.
