NEW DELHI: The row between the Congress and the Opposition has heated up over the JPC set up to probe the 2G scam after the latter expressed ‘ no- confidence’ in PC Chacko as chairman of the panel.

The Congress hit back when six Congress members of the panel met Lok Sabha speaker Meira Kumar on Thursday to demand the removal of Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Jaswant Singh, Yashwant Sinha and Ravi Shankar Prasad.

Earlier, Opposition members petitioned the Speaker seeking Chacko’s removal and accusing him of being “highly partisan, unfair, prejudicial.”

“He has used the JPC to conceal and subvert the truth,” the letter said.
