CHOICE OF LOCATION

Morbe area was chosen for the project as it offers the requisite 100 acres of land, which the civic body already owns. 1 MW power genera- tion requires 5 acres of land.

So the civic body had saved on the land cost since the Morbe dam slope was being used for the project The dam is 3-km long and the slope is 254 m

Further, it is also south-facing all, which is another requirement for a solar plant
