VASHI: If the maps put up at Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation schools in Nerul and Sanpada are anything to go by, Delhi is not in India and Mumbai is not a part of Maharashtra.

The anomaly was noticed in the first floor classroom of Datta Mandir school in Sanpada. The Nerul village civic school maps, too, have both the capitals are missing.

Moreover, while one board giving details of NMMC officers mentions Ramesh Shinde as the standing committee chairman, another declares Eknath Patil as the education committee chairman. Both the officials have retired from their posts last year.

While the errors in these two schools have come to light, sources said that there is every possibility that several other schools have similar errors.

Sudhakar Sonawane, education committee chairman, said, “We will look into the issue on an urgent basis. The information displayed in all schools will be checked and errors, if any, will be corrected at the earliest.”

RS Naikwadi, education com- mittee officer, said, “The information being provided through maps on classroom walls should be absolutely correct. We will order correction of the mistakes if they have occurred in any of the classrooms.”
