CBD BELAPUR: New Panvel-based Changu Kana Thakur ( CKT) High School has bagged the British Council’s International School Award ( ISA). Both Marathi and English mediums of the school have received the honour.

British Council selected the winner after evaluating the participant schools on seven different projects submitted by their students from June 2012 to February 2013. The selection process required 80% of students from participant schools to take part in the projects.

While students from the English medium section submitted nine projects, the Marathi medium section submitted 14.

“These projects helped improve students’ confidence level. While working on the proj- ect, students got the opportunity to interact with students from other parts of the world, which leads to a transfer of knowledge,” said YT Deshmukh, vice chairman of CKT school trust.

Deshmukh also praised principals Dr Nandkumar Jadhav and Santosh Chavan, observers, teaching and non- teaching staff for their efforts.
