MNVS protests against college

- SANGHAMITRA SENGUPTA

The Maharashtra Navnirman Vidyaarthi Sena (MNVS) has objected to Kharghar-based Saraswati College of Engineering asking students to pay for damage to any apparatus during practical classes.

“Apparatus is damaged regularly in the labs and hence we need to charge students,” said Manik Pol, registrar of the college.

However, MNVS vice president Santosh Gavas said, “Even last year the college had charged Rs500 as breakage charge. It was after we protested that the money was returned. This year although the amount is Rs100, it is still not justified. Gavas added that the college had promised to look into the matter.”
