UTTAR PRADESH MANGOES POPULAR IN CITY

A buyer-seller meet was organised to promote different kinds of mangoes from Uttar Pradesh (UP) for exportatio­n to major markets such as USA, China, Japan, Australia and New Zealand at the Supreme Heritage hotel in Vashi on Friday.

“The State of Uttar Pradesh has been the front runner in terms of mango production with a wide range of popular and potential varieties. The major popular and potential varieties grown in the states are Dusheri, Langra, Chausa and Mallika. Considerin­g the potential of these mango varieties and their production in the State, UP’s mango has been branded ‘Nawab’,” said Rajeev Srivastava deputy director, Rajva Krishi Utpan Mandi Parishad (RKUMP) which co- organised the event with National Institute of Agricultur­al Marketing (NIAM) and Agricultur­al and Processed Food Products Export Developmen­t Authority (APEDA)
